What Does the 911 Office Do?
Richland Communications District is responsible for keeping the Richland Parish 911 Center up-to-date and running smoothly. A majority of our time is spent updating and maintaining all residential and commercial addresses and contact information for emergency purposes. We place 911 markers at each location to make it easier for first responders to locate a particular address in the case of an emergency. We also maintain the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system that allows dispatchers, patrol deputies, Sheriff's Office admin, and investigators to access dispatched calls and reports.
I Need A New Address, Where Do I Start?
Our office will be your first stop, since an address is needed for all other agencies. You may either complete the Address Application Form online or contact our office. A fee of $65 and a signature is required to receive the paperwork and the 911 marker. This can be paid in office or by phone. We accept cash, check, and debit card payments. There is a small service fee for card payments.
How Do I get a 911 Sign?
You will be issued a new 911 sign after applying for a new address. An initial fee of $65 is required. If it needs to be replaced, please complete the Update Address Form online or contact our office for a free replacement.
